TJ meets Stephen Curry

During his battle with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia, nine-year-old TJ found strength in his favorite basketball star Stephen Curry. Not only would TJ watch all of his games, but he also has read Stephen’s book. TJ played basketball for the first-time last year and it has since become his favorite sport. So much so, that he didn’t have to put much thought into what his favorite wish would be. TJ’s greatest wish was to attend a Golden State Warriors game and meet Stephen Curry. On March 20th, TJ and his family arrived in San Francisco. They immediately hopped in their rental car and headed for the Pacific Coast Highway. The winding roads provided them with beautiful views of California’s mountains and giant waves in the ocean.

While the first day of their trip was exciting, it was the second day of the trip that TJ calls the best day of his life. The day started with everyone riding their bikes over the Golden Gate Bridge. After a day of exploring San Francisco, it was time to head to the Oracle Arena and watch the Warriors play the Pacers. Everyone put on their Warriors gear and headed to the Stadium. Upon arrival, the family was brought down to the court to watch Stephen shoot around. Once he was all warmed up, Curry talked with TJ and his family. He even signed a basketball and a Warriors hat for him. Jordan bell, the power forward for the Warriors, gave TJ his basketball as well. The Warriors came out with the victory, thus making his wish trip even more exciting. The last couple of days in California, TJ was able to enjoy a ginormous ice cream sundae at the Ghirardelli Chocolate Company and an amusement park in Santa Cruz. While the trip only lasted a few days, it provided TJ and his family with memories that will last forever.
