Maddie’s Wish to Visit the Aquarium

Maddie, 2, is described by mom as a miracle baby. When she was 15 months old, mom noticed Maddie was limping. After getting checked out by the doctor, Maddie was referred to Children’s Healthcare of Georgia, and was discovered to be suffering from Neuroblastoma. After six rounds of chemo, Maddie was treated at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta for two bone marrow transplants. The transplants went smoothly, and Maddie has recovered. The hospital visits didn’t stop there though. Maddie now undergoes radiation.

Maddie has a love for animals, especially sea life. Anytime she sees fish on the television, her face lights up and she touches the screen. Maddie needed a break from treatments and doctors. She wished to go to the Georgia Aquarium with her family, and Children’s Wish Foundation was thrilled to fulfill her wish!

Maddie was given tickets to the aquarium to see all the sea life she wanted, and even got funds for a souvenir!

Mom told us that Maddie had a great time. She also said “Thank you all so much for having this Aquarium trip funded for our family. We all enjoyed ourselves. We really needed that experience.”
