David goes to Legoland Florida!

David, 12, was born weighing only 4 pounds. He was left in ICU for 3 days, and then he was transferred to another hospital to utilize their machines and specialists. At only 35 weeks old, David underwent several operations. When he turned 5 years old, David’s neurologist ordered blood tests, and it was found that he needed to undergo Peritoneal Dialysis. Mom would spend 10 hours every single day; 5 cycles of 2 hours performing dialysis on her young son. After a year of waiting, David was finally given a kidney transplant. Mom tells us that his donor was a 26-year-old army vet who has saved 7 lives, and their family is very thankful that he saved David’s life.

When David found out he was eligible for a wish, he was ecstatic. He knew exactly what he wanted: a trip to Legoland Florida. David has always had a love for Legos, he would spend hours building houses and castles with his younger brother. Children’s Wish Foundation provided him with the trip of a lifetime. David and his family stayed at the Legoland Resort and rode every ride at Legoland! The family had a blast in the warm pool playing with large foam Legos. When mom asked David what his favorite part of the trip was, he said, “I loved every moment of the trip.”

Mom emailed us after the trip to let us know that she and her family had an amazing time, and David is so thankful that his wish came true!
