Abigail’s Trip to Universal Studios Florida

Battling Leukemia for a little over a year has been rough on 16-year-old Abigail. Not being able to hang out with her friends’ due appointments and hospital stays has taken a toll on her. Her sickness hasn’t changed her adventurous personality though. Her wish was to go to Universal Studios Orlando, and Children’s Wish Foundation International, Inc. sent her and her family on her way!
Abigail and her family enjoyed the thrill rides at Universal Studios for 2 straight days. The fun didn’t stop there. They enjoyed a full day at Volcano Bay Water Park as well! Abigail is a thrill seeker, so when she saw the Ko’okiri Body Plunge, she knew that would be her first water slide of the day.
Children’s Wish Foundation partnered with the Sea Life Orlando Aquarium. Abigail and her family were welcomed to the aquarium with entry tickets to see Madame Tussauds-a wax museum with life-size replicas of famous Americans & historic icons in themed galleries.
The family could not get enough of Orlando. Following the Aquarium and wax museum, they headed on over to The Game Escape, where they received a private room. Abigail is interested in science and space, so when asked what her escape game of choice was, of course it was “Mission Mars”. Their goal was to repair the ship’s systems and launch in time to see Earth again. Their Astro crew had an unfortunate crash-landing onto the red planet, causing serious damage to the spaceship, and were minutes away from a large, dangerous, solar flare. It took some thinking and moving, but Abigail and family completed their mission.
We are so blessed that Abigail’s dad sent us photos every day at the end of their adventure. Abigail said “thank you so much for fulfilling my wish. I had a great time with my family, I will always remember this trip.”
