Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy (DMD) is a severe form of muscular dystrophy characterized by rapid progression of muscle degeneration, eventually leading to loss of ambulation and death. Michael is an avid NASCAR fan and Kasey Kahne, driver of the number 9 NASCAR car in the Nextel Cup car series, is his favorite driver.  Michael wished to meet Kasey Kahne and attend a NASCAR race.  Children’s Wish granted Michael’s wish.  Michael and his parents were treated to a full NASCAR weekend where they attended a race and spent time with Kasey Kahne.  Following Michael’s wish weekend, he was featured on sportingnews.com as a NASCAR expert and now, he is in college. Many thanks to The Kasey Kahne Foundation, Atlanta Motor Speedway, and our generous donors  for partnering with Children’s Wish Foundation to help grant Michael’s wish.  "No child should have to live life from a hospital bed.
