Herlie’s Adventures in Singapore

Fifteen-year-old Herlie has gone through many trying times in her battle with immature Ovarian Teratoma, Stage 3 Cancer. During Herlie’s surgery and treatments she has remained strong and positive. According to her mother, “She doesn’t give up easily. She always remains optimistic. She is our strength.” Growing up as the only daughter in the house, Herlie’s two brothers are always looking out for her and serve as her strongest support system. She and her brothers love to do everything together and even when she lost her hair as a result of her chemotherapy treatments, they, along with her father, shaved their heads in support of Herlie. Needing a vacation from her battle with cancer, Herlie’s greatest wish was to travel abroad from her home in the Philippines for the first time. Her wish came true when the family of five flew to Singapore with the perfect itinerary to provide unforgettable memories! While in Singapore, Herlie and her family saw over 5,000 land and aquatic animals on a River Safari tour, spent the day touring the beautiful attractions at Sentosa, enjoyed thrilling roller coasters at Universal Studios, and rode the world’s largest observation wheel, the Singapore Flyer. Herlie had the time of her life and it was an adventure she will never forget. After the trip her mother wrote:

“On behalf of my family, we are truly grateful from the bottom of our hearts for the gift that touched our family beyond words. Just saying thank you will never repay your kindness! Kudos to Children’s Wish Foundation for touching the lives of many!”
